Media Camp
Influence the world through media. Whether it is video, journalism, radio, art, the web, or another media format, you can play a central role in setting people free from whatever holds them captive and in bondage away from God. Media camp provides trainees with a hands-on opportunity to learn how from media professionals. By week’s end, you’ll understand the technical aspects of media missions as well as the fundamental principles and practices of missions.
This summer’s project is the most ambitious ever, which means it will be more challenging, more ‘impossible’, and more rewarding than any we’ve ever attempted. First timers as well as Media Camp grads are encouraged to come on board and tackle this one with us.
Camp dates for 2010: July 11-16
Africa Camp
Experienced missionaries to Africa share their stories, give away their insights, and personally train Africa Camp participants. It all happens in an authentically simulated village. The living quarters, the cooking fires, the meals, the clothing, the language, even the currency is truly African. The only thing we’ve left out is the malaria! You’ll experience the culture and mystic of ‘the dark continent’ without traveling there.
Hundreds of unreached language groups still exist in Africa . Even among the thousands of tribes missionaries have reached, there remain tens of thousands of villages unaware that God loves them dearly! How to reach them, how to learn languages, what their religious belief systems are, and where to start are covered by our experts. Africa Camp trainees leave with a clear plan for their future and a vision for the peoples of Africa.
Camp dates for 2010: July 11-16
NOTE: Fees for camps are not set by a dollar amount (though GoodSoil projects based on a budget of $390 per trainee). Rather, campers are permitted to attend camp by qualifying. All campers who qualify themselves are permitted to attend camp (Regardless of how much is generated from there letters).
Camp Qualifying Activities for Trainees:
- Recruit a group of 15 prayer supporters (We’re making missionaries who will change nations, and that is a matter for serious praying)
- Write a support gathering letter (The Training Packet that will be supplied trains campers in how to prepare this letter in an appropriate format.) and submit it to a minimum of 30 individuals.
- Pray daily for God honor your support letter (the estimated costs to GoodSoil for each camp is $390 per trainee).
- Read the required readings before camp starts (usually a very exciting and inspirational book for teens on missions, and 1 article on missions principles.)
- Complete the training workbook Voyage of the Euangelia
- Personally earn $100 toward camp. (We teach that every missionary should be the first to contribute in every way toward their mission.)
